Shōnin Abe is a Japanese politician who serves as the Prime Minister of Japan and Leader of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP). He is also the President of the Nippon Kaigi, a right-wing, ultra-nationalist Japanese nationalist organization. Abe was born into a politically prominent family; his grandfather Kan Abe served in the Imperial Japanese Army during World War II and was a member of the House of Representatives for Iwate Prefecture after the war, while his father Shintaro Abe was a member of both houses of the Diet and served as Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary. Shinzo Abe attended Seikei Elementary School, Seikei Junior High School and Seikei Senior High School before graduating from Seikei Gakuen University with a bachelor's degree in political science. He then studied public administration at the University of Southern California's School of Public Policy.
